Job Description

Technical Officer (Electrical and Mechanical/Building Services) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/841/03]

Campus Development Office (CDO) is responsible for building project development and property maintenance. Our office provides comprehensive professional services across a vast array of building project types, including the institutional, office, residential, and hospitality categories. Our responsibilities range from master planning to architecture and interior design, covering all stages of the development process, from client’s brief and design requirements to project management and site supervision until project completion. CDO also provides facility maintenance and building repair work to ensure the campus operates smoothly at all times.

The appointee will be part of the Electrical and Mechanical team within CDO to assist in the daily operation, enhancement, repair, and maintenance of the E&M system in the University to ensure our operations are safe, reliable and efficient.

Duties

  1. Plan and conduct routine maintenance, upgrading and improvement works;
  2. Coordinate and supervise in-house technicians and contractors on works related to planned maintenance, routine inspections, replacements, improvements, and upgrades, etc.;
  3. Assist in preparing drawings and documentation for maintenance work orders, routine maintenance contracts, tender documents, and project delivery;
  4. Conduct troubleshooting and system failure analysis, and provide solutions for enhancement services;
  5. Assist in the implementation, testing, and commissioning of project work orders;
  6. Respond to emergency duties and perform shift duty; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, Higher Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as a “Green Card”);
  2. A minimum of 5 years of solid experience in project works and/or in operation and maintenance duties related to electrical and mechanical installations;
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  4. Being a good team player with good communication skills and supervisory capability;
  5. Being self-motivated with the ability to work independently under pressure and tight schedules; and
  6. Strong risk awareness and a strong sense of responsibility are required.
  7. Holder of a Registered Electrical Worker (REW) license A or above, with the ability to perform periodic inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations (WR2), is an advantage.
  8. Substantial project management experience in territory education and/or experience in managing government subvention projects is preferred; and
  9. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), MS Projects, and AutoCAD, knowledge of Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a plus.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
