Job Description
Project Title: Alternative Visions of Generative AI and VR in Asia? Comparing AI and VR Applications in China and the United States
[Appointment Period: 5 months]
The appointee will be responsible for assisting a research project entitled “Alternative Visions of AI and VR in Asia? Comparing AI and VR Applications in China and the United States” led by the principal investigator Dr. Jindong Liu. The appointee will assist the qualitative and computational data collection and analysis, literature review, website and promotion activity management; and carrying out any other duties as assigned by the principal investigator. The initial appointment will be for a period of 5 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.
The applicants should have at least Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in five subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent, preferably with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Communication and Media Studies or relevant disciplines (e.g., Cultural Studies, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, or Anthropology). Prior research experience in new media and communication studies and relevant disciplines (e.g., Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Science and Technology studies) is preferred. They are expected to have relevant research skills (e.g., qualitative interviews and computational data collection). They should be creative, self-motivated, responsible, organized, good at interpersonal communication, and proficient in English and Chinese (preferably both Cantonese and Putonghua).

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave and outpatient medical benefits.
