International Capital Market Association
ICMA promotes well-functioning cross-border capital markets, which are essential to fund sustainable economic growth. It is a not-for-profit membership association with offices in Zurich, London, Paris, Brussels, and Hong Kong, serving over 600 members in almost 70 jurisdictions globally.
Its members include private and public sector issuers, banks and securities dealers, asset and fund managers, insurance companies, law firms, capital market infrastructure providers and central banks. ICMA provides industry-driven standards and recommendations, prioritising three core fixed income market areas: primary, secondary and repo and collateral, with cross-cutting themes of sustainable finance and FinTech and digitalisation. ICMA works with regulatory and governmental authorities, helping to ensure that financial regulation supports stable and efficient capital markets.
ICMA established an Asia-Pacific office in Hong Kong in 2013 and now has more than 100 Asia-Pacific members.
Overview of role
The post of Associate - Events for the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) is based in ICMA’s Asia-Pacific Representative Office in Hong Kong. The role will work with the Associate, Membership, Events and Communication based in Hong Kong to prepare our upcoming events in Asia Pacific. The selected candidate will work closely with events team to support upcoming events in Asia Pacific.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about events planning. Experience in marketing, content creation (written and visual) and digital marketing is highly desirable. The right person will be self-motivated and willing to work flexibly and confidently across multiple projects simultaneously to meet the growing demands of the business.
Requirements
Supporting with tasks across the life cycle of an event, including
- A recognised university degree with at least 1 year of experience working in marketing, events and communication
- Pre-event registrations/communications with participants
- Preparation of event materials including banners and name badges
- Keeping up to date records of event details in line with ICMA existing filing systems
- Supporting with administration relating to sponsorship of events
- Assisting in the marketing and promotion of events via the ICMA website, email campaigns and social media channels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
- Managing registrations and communications with participants, liaison with speakers, sponsors, event partners and venues, including as part of pre-event planning calls
- Direct experience in the financial sector is preferred
