Job Description
We are looking for a maternity cover for our current Music Educational Assistant (Part-time) who will bring a "can-do" attitude, and current expertise, to join a cohesive and forward looking team of Christian educators. You are expected to offer classroom and logistical support to subject teachers, including lesson preparation, administrative support, small group instructions, and duties that contribute to the achievement of the School’s Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs) and promote biblical worldview understanding.
The successful candidate will cover our current Music Educational Assistant on maternity leave from January to April 2025.
What you will do:
- Work alongside teachers and provide instructional support to students either in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Provide piano accompaniment support to individual and group music rehearsals.
- Provide logistical support to and help prepare students for in-house and inter-school music events and festivals.
- Prepare and make learning materials and music scores ready for lessons.
- Willingness to engage in administrative tasks that are core to the school’s operation, such as curriculum management, service on committees, as well as engagement in co-curricular activities.
We are looking for someone with:
- Passionate about Music and Christian education, with a positive attitude and a growth mindset.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Music or related disciplines awarded by an accredited university.
- ABRSM Piano Grade 8 or above, or its equivalent.
- Good sight-reading skills and ability to provide piano accompaniment to choral ensembles
- Experience in working with students with varying music competence is highly preferred.
- An understanding of other instruments in strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion family.
- Ability to manage classroom and group practices, emergency situations with appropriate child safety protocols and a calm demeanor.
- Ability to collaborate positively with faculty, students and parents in all aspects of school life.
Work arrangements:
- Working hours from 9:00 AM to 3:10 PM (with 35 min lunch break - times may vary for this each day) every school day.
- Working in the evenings for 1-2 hours for school music events may be required.
