Job Description
Project Title: A Three-Phase Iterative Approach to Enhancing Preservice Early Childhood Teachers’ Professional Growth through Co-Design of Robot-Mediated STEM Learning Activities
[Appointment Period: 6 months]
The appointee will assist in one project focusing on early childhood educators in teaching STEM subjects. The appointee will be responsible for providing support to the project team led by the principal investigator, Dr. Yang Weipeng. They will assist in and receive training and supervision on (a) planning and conducting data collection and analysis, (b) carrying out literature review, (c) contributing to manuscript writing, and (d) performing any other duties as assigned. The appointment will be for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement. The start date is negotiable, ideally February 1, 2025, or as soon as thereafter.
Applicants should have at least Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in five subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent in any disciplines related to child development, psychology, education, and psycholinguistics, with considerable quantitative research experience. They are expected to possess good work ethics, good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently with initiative and under pressure, a strong sense of responsibility, and proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese. International conferencing and publishing experience are desirable. Proficiency in Cantonese is an advantage but not required.
