The Diversity and Inclusion Office (DIO) has been established since 2020 to support the University’s effort in creating a more inclusive campus and fostering a stronger integration between university members of different backgrounds and cultures. It also serves as the secretariat of the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee and the Committee Against Discrimination and Sexual Harassment of the University.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning and executing various online and offline projects and events to foster a diverse and inclusive culture within the campus community; (b) co-ordinating with internal units and external partners to ensure seamless project implementation; (c) co-ordinating with agencies and vendors to ensure quality deliverables; (d) assisting in the research, development and implementation of policies and initiatives related to equity, diversity and inclusion; (e) providing administrative support to committees and meetings; and (f) performing any other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Sciences, Marketing, Law, Public Policy/Administration); (ii) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iii) innovative thinking skills; (iv) the ability to work independently and as a team player, with a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (v) good analytical and organisational skills with attentiveness to details. Having at least 1 year’s post-qualification work experience and prior experience in event organisation, marketing, and/or communications, and good knowledge of discrimination legislation and equality issues will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
