Assistant Director, Co-development

The Co-development team, part of the Startup Ecosystem team, plays a crucial role in developing various joint development programmes in collaboration with potential partners such as universities, corporates, incubators, venture builders, and venture capital firms both locally and internationally. The mission is to develop pipeline for promising tech startups to join HKSTP ecosystem and to leverage partners' resources network and support for their growth through joint collaborative programmes.

As the Assistant Director, the appointee will lead a team and play a key role with the following responsibilities:

The Position

• Develop overall co-development strategic plan for short to long term co-development partnership direction and strategy both locally and internationally
• Analyse and identify suitable local and international co-development partners
• Initiate, coordinate and liaise with both identified partners and internal teams to explore, discuss, design, formulate and develop new co-development / joint collaboration programmes to build pipeline to incubation and acceleration programmes and / or to enhance the existing supports to startup growth under the programmes
• Work with non-local partners to build pipeline to increase the international mix of startups within the HKSTP Incubation programmes through strategic channel partnerships
• Support the programme teams to enrich and enhance existing joint collaboration programmes with existing partners, ensuring that the programmes effectively leverage partners' resources to support startup growth
• Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential local and international co-development partners for potential new collaborations and developments
• Collect, consolidate, and analyze data and performance metrics of the co-developed programmes for management analyses, reporting and decision making
• Perform any other duties as assigned

The Candidate

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing and communications, IT, engineering, or other related disciplines
• 10 years' work experience, preferably in business and partnership development in technology startup ecosystem and / or incubator / accelerator or innovation-focused environment
• A proven track record in partnership development, client-facing and relationship management
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Hong Kong's innovation and technology development, including both local and global startup ecosystems across various industry verticals
• Good team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
• Mature and independent, detail-oriented and ability to work in multitasking and under tight timelines
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• Occasional business travel is required
• Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
