IT Engineer

IT Engineer (Operational Technology)plays a pivotal role in the integration and optimization of technology within our plant. This position focuses on the interface between IT and operational processes, ensuring that all systems operate seamlessly and efficiently. The IT Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the plant’s OT infrastructure. This candidate will also be dotted responsible for the IT setup in HK to ensure the setup are compliance to our company technology policies.

Key Responsibilities

System Integration and Maintenance

• Design and Implement: Develop and integrate OT systems to enhance plant operations, ensuring compatibility and functionality with existing systems.
• Maintenance: Regularly inspect, test, and maintain OT systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve issues related to OT systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operation.
• Provide office automation support to business units.
• Troubleshooting and support for issues related to computer hardware and software, video/audio equipment, and other related peripherals
• Ensure proper document of setup, inventory and ISO document are done and updated as per company technology policy
• Conduct trainings for end-users to educate about new software, hardware and security feature
• Support IT/OT and telecommunication projects; work with business users and system integrator to ensure business and company technology policies requirement are fulfilled
• Liaison and management of System integrators or vendors
• IT and Network Asset management
• Manage Audio Visual and Endpoint for patch management

Collaboration and Support

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Centralized IT, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Team to align OT/IT initiatives with business objectives.
• User Support: Provide technical support and training to plant personnel, ensuring they can effectively use OT systems.
• Vendor Management: Liaison and management of System integrators or vendors.

Security and Compliance

• Cybersecurity: Implement robust security measures to protect OT systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Compliance: Ensure all OT systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Continuous Improvement

• Innovation: Stay updated with the latest OT technologies and trends, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance plant operations.
• Process Optimization: Analyze plant processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement through OT solutions.

Documentation and Training

• Documentation: Ensure that the setup documentation, inventory records, and ISO documents are properly completed and updated in accordance with the company's technology policies.
• Training: Conduct trainings for end-users to educate about new software, hardware and security features

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OT systems, including SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and DCS.
• IT Skills: Proficiency in IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity as they relate to OT environments.

Experience and Education

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in OT or a similar field within a plant environment
  • Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant Degrees: Bachelor degree/ Diploma in a relevant field.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA or MCSA, or equivalent.
• Industry Experience: Experience in specific industries such as Power & Gas, Waste to Energy etc
