We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Office of Strategic Initiatives:

Officer (Strategic Initiatives) - (Ref.: 2400296)

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Office of Strategic Initiatives, the appointee will be part of a team supporting strategic initiatives of the University, including its development as a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) as well as the setup and operation of the Secretariat of the Steering Committee on the Hong Kong Alliance of UASs (“the Alliance”). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Providing administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Strategic Initiatives; 
  • Performing clerical duties in support of the University’s role as Secretariat of the Alliance, such as preparing meeting papers and maintaining records of partnerships and collaborations; 
  • Maintaining documentation, reports, and publications for projects and initiatives of the Office;
  • Assisting in liaison with internal and external parties to ensure effective communication, including handling email and phone enquiries; 
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of activities and events related to the Office or the Alliance; and 
  • Performing any other duties and tasks as assigned by the Office.

Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized degree with at least one year of relevant post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in the Higher Education sector;
  • Capable of multitasking, attentive to detail, and able to work under pressure;
  • A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility and motivation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; and
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office and Chinese word processing.

Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.  

Terms and Conditions for Appointment
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidate.
