We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Part-time Research Assistant I or II (Project code: R8029) (A&SS) (Ref: 250009S)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist in a research project related to AI-powered mobile learning for language education (Project code: R8029). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Creating an AI-powered metaverse for speaking learning, including AI development, metaverse integration, UX/UI design, RAG training, etc.;
- Providing assistance in project coordination, and
- Performing other duties as assigned by the principal investigator.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A bachelor’s degree (research assistant II) or master’s degree (research assistant I) in computer science or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Strong experience with AI, ML, NLP, and VR technologies;
- Proven experience in developing AI-powered applications or tools;
- Experience with 3D graphics and development of online/mobile language education tools is highly desirable;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
- Detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet deadlines and work independently.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a part-time contract (April 2025 - August 2025). Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
