Post-doctoral Fellow / Research Associate (Job ID: 10324)

The research group of Professor Xiaojuan Ma (CSE) has an opening for a new research staff position at the level of Post-doctoral Fellow or Research Associate. 

The primary responsibilities of the appointee are to 1) design conversational AI agents for restaurant services that align with multi-stakeholders' needs, adhere to hospitality practices, and have high social acceptability in real-world contexts; and 2) prepare applications for further funding schemes. The appointee is expected to conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research on human-computer interactions and human-agent interactions to understand the relationship between customers, restaurants, and agents, informing ethical AI and user-friendly agent system design. Post-doctoral Fellow/Research Associate will also assist in grant writing, managing and coordinating for the development of the collaborative project, and supervising research students. 

Applicants for Post-doctoral Fellow/Research Associate should have a PhD degree in Computer Science or a subject relevant to the theme of the research project including but not limited to Cognitive Science, Social Science and Design. Successful applicant is expected to have independent research abilities in the related fields, solid technical/programming skills with a strong research/publication record, and good communication, collaboration, and project management capabilities.
