Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Media and Communication (Appointment up to 36 months) [Ref. T/028/25]

Project

9063007 Navigating Trust in Turbulent Times: Gauging Situational Trust Dynamics Model (STDM) Through A Five-Year Longitudinal Study Across Chinese and Western Societies in Crisis Contexts

Duties

The appointee will report directly to the Principal Investigators and collaborate closely with other team members on the project. Main duties include:

  1. Manage the overall project and coordinate the implementation of online surveys, focus group interviews, and online experiment under the supervision of the Principal Investigator;
  2. Assist with conducting literature review, data analysis
  3. Prepare research reports to publish in high-impact-factor SSCI/ SCIE journals and grant proposals;
  4. Draft the research-related reports and grant proposals and research papers for top-tier conferences and journals; Assist with the research team organisation and functioning;
  5. Support research projects and research collaboration, research team’s website maintenance, promote research output, and liaise with stakeholders; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A PhD degree in Communication/Psychology/Social Sciences/Public Health/Data Science/Computer Science or other related disciplines;
  2. Hands-on experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative research, as well as statistical analysis (e.g., SEM, Multi-level, Longitudinal data, or other advanced data analysis), is necessary;
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills in both written and spoken English (IELTS overall 7 or equivalent) and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  4. Being hardworking and self-motivated with ability to work independently and under pressure; and
  5. Experience in writing high quality of academic journal papers (e.g., SSCI/SCIE) and research grant proposals would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
