Senior Facilities Officer(Ref. 250312009-IE)
Duties
The appointee will report to the Client Services Section and be required to:
(a) supervise a team of front-line staff to provide client-focused facilities management services to specific buildings on campus and/or off-campus;
(b) plan, organise, co-ordinate and supervise contractors to carry out repairs and maintenance works to building fabrics/fittings/fixture as well as minor alteration and addition works;
(c) design and prepare specifications and drawings for planned maintenance and improvement works, as well as assess and make recommendations on returned tenders;
(d) assist in co-ordinating planned maintenance and improvement works, including the preparation of specifications/scope of works and sketches/drawings, as well as estimate, evaluate and make recommendations on returned tenders and prepare all necessary documents;
(e) liaise with other units/other sections of Campus Facilities and Sustainability Office (CFSO) /contractors regarding the execution of planned maintenance/replacement/upgrading works to building fabrics/fittings/fixture and/or building services installations/systems;
(f) monitor the progress, quality of work and service provided by in-house staff and/or contractors/service providers;
(g) assist in supervising, monitoring and managing the Client Services Section;
(h) provide back-up/support to other sections of CFSO for University’s activities/functions as required;
(i) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when required; and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree, preferably in Facilities Management, Building Surveying, Building Studies or other related engineering discipline;
(b) at least five years of relevant work experience;
(c) a broad working knowledge of the relevant disciplines in facilities management/building management industry;
(d) good communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills;
(e) sound knowledge of basic office computer software, including MS Office and preferably with knowledge of other software, such as AutoCAD; and
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
