Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) take a leadership role in providing administrative and quality assurance support to the student halls;
(b) provide leadership to the implementation and provision of the University’s overall residential life and educational programme and activities;
(c) develop the implementation of residential extra-curricular and co-curricular programmes to facilitate student integration and engagement;
(d) oversee and provide mentoring / coaching to all residential learning communities and interest groups;
(e) draw up policies related to hall residential life and education, residential hall associations and residential conduct, and to ensure their effective implementation;
(f) take a leadership role in providing one-stop support services to non-local students;
(g) formulate and oversee the implementation of activities and events to facilitate non-local students for better adaption to university life;
(h) supervise a group of executive and clerical staff, work closely with internal and external units; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work on irregular hours and perform on-call duties.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree;
(b) at least eight years’ relevant experience with background in areas related to student development and not less than five years’ specialist and supervisory experience;
(c) the ability to plan, coordinate and promote events / programmes;
(d) solid leadership skills and a desire to mentor others to help them reach their full potential;
(e) excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
(f) an enthusiastic attitude of service and care, and the ability to work well with others; and
(g) a high proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
