Technology Development Manager in the Knowledge Transfer Office [Ref. B/887/03]

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate with a strong background in Materials Science and research capability to join the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Team.  Our research focuses on perovskite solar cells and perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells.  The successful candidate will contribute to both the scientific and administrative aspects of our projects, including fabrication of tandem solar cell devices, setting up the pilot production line and associated facilities, coordination of activities with other teams, as well as managing paperwork and writing reports.

Duties

1. To build future perovskite solar cells and perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells;
2. Collaborate with team members and coordinate build up activities;
3. Coordination of tasks associated with facility development and equipment installation;
4. Hands-on operation of equipment to fabricate perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells;
5. Communicate the progress and findings in both Chinese and English;
6. Manage and organise necessary paperwork related to research projects;
7. Assist in preparing manuscripts for publication;
8. Participate in meetings and provide updates on project status; and
9. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. A PhD/Master’s Degree in Materials Science/Physics/Chemistry, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ of relevant industry experience;
2. Strong research capability, preferably with experience in solar cell technology, particularly perovskite and perovskite-silicon tandem cells;
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
4. Proficiency in scientific writing and the ability to prepare proposals, scientific manuscripts, and reports;
5. Strong organisational skills and attention to details;
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; and
7. Familiar with solar cell tools and software will be an advantage.
8. Previous experience in a research assistant role, project management, report preparation, coordinating collaborative research projects, and publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals is preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
