IT Officer/Assistant IT Officer (System Development) in the Research and E-Learning Unit
Duties: The appointee will support the E-Learning Team to drive successful e-Learning adoption in alignment with the School’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop e-Assessment, AI and Data Analytics e-Learning solutions in Moodle;
- Design and develop web and mobile e-Learning software;
- Collaborate with the e-Content development team and user support team to deliver e-Learning content;
- Prepare test scripts and data, and perform system tests;
- Prepare technical documentation and work report;
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
For the Post of IT Officer
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines;
- 4 years relevant working experience with at least 3 years in application development;
For the Post of Assistant IT Officer
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines with 1 year relevant working experience; or an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in IT disciplines or equivalent plus 3 years relevant working experience;
Other Requirements
- Familiar with microservice architecture’s software design and implementation;
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines & DevOps practice;
- Experience in managing cloud services such as AWS, Azure, etc;
- Strong experience in Web technologies: PHP, Python, AJAX, C#, Javascript, CSS, SQL, NoSQL, etc;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days’ annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
