Short description of the Hong Kong Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal Project:

In support of the Hong Kong Government’s policy to reduce carbon intensity and increase the proportion of natural gas used for power generation, an offshore LNG import terminal in Hong Kong has been constructed and already started its operations in 2023! It is one of the very few alike terminals in the world. The terminal contributes to the enhancement and diversification of Hong Kong’s natural gas supply sources and ensures a more reliable supply of fuel at competitive prices.

The terminal facility entails a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), an offshore jetty platform, two subsea pipelines, and two gas receiving stations. In addition, it is a joint venture between the two local power producers - Castle Peak Power Company (CAPCO) / CLP Power Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Electric Company.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), as the owner of the FSRU vessel, provides operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the offshore jetty platform. The Jetty O&M team consists of an onshore team and an offshore team of Supervisors and Operators.

What will be your roles and responsibilities?

Assisting the Jetty Maintenance Manager to ensure that the offshore jetty will be technically operational by facilitating the overall maintenance of the offshore jetty topside equipment and systems. This includes planning and implementing maintenance plan and coordinating with Jetty Maintenance Supervisors for execution of maintenance activities. Regular travel to the offshore jetty is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance plan in line with contract and technical requirements; maintenance activities cover preventive and corrective maintenance in mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation;
• Coordinate with Jetty Maintenance Supervisors to ensure maintenance activities completion in safe and efficient manner and with minimal impact to daily jetty operations;
• Review maintenance plan regularly; develop strategies to enhance maintenance efficiency when necessary;
• Responsible to update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (i.e. MariApps); record all work orders and maintenance activities, and ensure all master data and maintenance requirements in the system are up to date.
• Responsible for inventory management of all consumables, maintenance tools and spare parts in warehouse and offshore jetty; ensure record accuracy e.g. consistency between record and physical stock.
• Assist to forecast and control maintenance budget;
• Available to work in case of emergencies or unplanned maintenance activities;
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering discipline, preferably major in mechanical, automation, electrical;
• 5 years of working experience in maintenance management, preferably in processing plant / power industry / oil & gas industry;
• 2 years of hands on experience working in frontline is preferred;
• Professional membership in engineering discipline will be an advantage;
• Experience with computerized maintenance management system, e.g. SAP or other software;
• Good planning, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills;
• Well organized, independent, responsible, and willing to learn;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• Proficient PC skills and MS Offices such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
