Short description of the Hong Kong Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal Project:
In support of the Hong Kong Government’s policy to reduce carbon intensity and increase the proportion of natural gas used for power generation, an offshore LNG import terminal in Hong Kong has been constructed and already started its operations in 2023! It is one of the very few alike terminals in the world. The terminal contributes to the enhancement and diversification of Hong Kong’s natural gas supply sources and ensures a more reliable supply of fuel at competitive prices.
The terminal facility entails a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), an offshore jetty platform, two subsea pipelines, and two gas receiving stations. In addition, it is a joint venture between the two local power producers - Castle Peak Power Company (CAPCO) / CLP Power Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Electric Company.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), as the owner of the FSRU vessel, provides operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the offshore jetty platform. The Jetty O&M team consists of an onshore team and an offshore team of Supervisors and Operators.

What will be your roles and responsibilities?
Assisting the Jetty Maintenance Manager to ensure that the offshore jetty will be technically operational by facilitating the overall maintenance of the offshore jetty topside equipment and systems. This includes managing and overseeing offshore members for regular execution of maintenance and repairs, inspections, coordinating onsite maintenance provided by vendors/contractors. Travel to the offshore jetty (e.g. 2-3 days per week) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all mechanical related preventive and corrective maintenance of the offshore jetty;
- Supervise offshore team members and external vendor/contractors for execution of all mechanical maintenance activities, including but not limited to preparing Job Safety Analyses, rectification of corrective maintenance;
- Communicate with Jetty Maintenance Planner closely for review and refinement of the overall Maintenance Plan;
- Monitor consumables, maintenance tools and spare parts at the jetty; communicate closely with Jetty Maintenance Planner for related inventory management, purchase and delivery;
- Share knowledge to offshore members for continuous improvement of maintenance knowledge and skills;
- Maintain good communication with external vendors/contractors for efficient maintenance activities;
- Available to work in case of any emergencies and unplanned maintenance activities;
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering discipline, preferably major in mechanical;
- 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in processing plant / power industry / oil & gas industry; hands on onsite maintenance supervision experience is required;
- Professional membership in engineering discipline will be an advantage;
- Experience with computerized maintenance management system, e.g. SAP or other software;
- Good communication and problem-solving skills;
- Well organized, independent, responsible, and willing to learn;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
- Proficient PC skills and MS Offices such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
