兼職機械人比賽班導師 (Part-time Robotic Competition class tutor)

We are seeking a: Part-time Robotic competition Tutor

Professional tutors, graduates, college or university students, or anyone with experience in teaching STEAM/STEM-related courses are welcome to join us. Those with experience will be given priority.

Preferred Experience:

• Teaching Robotics courses, including VEX 123, VEX GO, VEX IQ, VEX V5, Whalesbot, Robocon and other robotic courses
• Participating in robotics competitions that require building, assembling, modifying, and coding robots, preferably VEX IQ/V5, Whalesbot competitions
• Robotics Trainer
• Programming Instructor

Compensation:

• Teaching hourly wages start at $180, with bonuses for quality teaching
• Lesson preparation hourly wages start at $65

Responsibilities:

• Teach robotics lessons to secondary and primary school students, including:
  • Assembly of the robotic car
  • Coding of the car using block-based programming language
  • Developing strategies for competitions and tournaments
• Use a variety of teaching methods to address different learning styles and abilities, including hands-on activities, group work, and individualized instruction
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and teachers
• Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that align with the VEX IQ or any other robot courses curriculum and promote student learning and achievement
• Collaborate with teachers and other instructors to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
• Provide support and guidance to students as they prepare for VEX IQ or any other robot courses competitions and tournaments

Requirements:

• Passionate about STEAM education and working with students
• Capable of leading and training students to plan competitive and innovative strategies for different STEAM competitions (e.g., Vex, RoboMaster, HKUST Underwater Robot, Makeblock, ABU ROBOCON)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to use different teaching methods flexibly to cope with different learning styles and abilities
• People with no experience but enthusiasm and interest in STEAM education are welcome to join our team
• Applicants with a bachelor's degree in education or an aviation-related/STEAM-related degree are preferred
• Ability to use time flexibly and have good time management skills
