Business Development Officer

Law Business Research, an award-winning global provider of business intelligence for the legal and intellectual property markets, is looking for a dynamic and talented Business Development Officer to join our fast-growing Asia-Pacific commercial group.

ROLE PURPOSE
This role is responsible for developing new business prospects and selling our variety of products to 
new clients. You will use your relationship, client management and negotiation skills to grow our client 
base by approaching new clients by telephone and email, planning and preparing presentations and 
communicating our product offering.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to win new business.
• Implement plans to maximise new business opportunities by developing sales campaigns to 
consistently achieve your revenue targets.
• Complete Account Management activities as and when required including, but not limited to, 
develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identify opportunities to upsell and 
upgrade, and support the renewal cycle.
• Work with your colleagues in the company to ensure highest standards of delivery and identify 
opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling to increase company revenue.
• Develop in-depth product, market and sector knowledge.
• Deliver effective communications, which can be adjusted depending on the product and 
audience.
• Attend client meetings and communicate new product developments, obtaining client 
feedback.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, in particular a highly professional telephone 
manner.
• Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets 
• Ability to work to targets and showcase resilience in challenging situations.
• Ability to role model key LBR values and behaviours for junior team members.
