Contract Systems Analyst - Network, Firewall, VPN, Gov (C33466)

Duties:

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Official Receiver's Office (ORO);
• Enhance existing network infrastructure and implement network infrastructures according to the guidelines/requirements provided, in particular to support the implementation the implementation of Network Infrastructure for ORO headquarter and sub-offices and the rollout of the new Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system;
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to implement the upgrade of network infrastructure, review the implementation plan and replacement plan, monitor vendors performance and project progress, and support user acceptance testing, arrange progress meetings and review project deliverables;
• Provide system administration and configuration on network equipment including routers, network switches, firewall systems, EDR system, VPN system and cabling systems;
• Operate network equipment/facilities according to prescribed standards and procedures, monitor system performance, perform routine system maintenance and upgrade, conduct investigation and troubleshooting on network problems, etc.;
• Set up and maintain network and data communication environments; scheduling and monitoring network equipment installation/relocation and perform site preparation work;
• Fulfil logging and administrative reporting requirements and prepare statistics and reports;
• Assist in procurement process of network equipment, including conducting market research, preparation of requirement specifications and product evaluation;
• Update and maintain inventory records of computer hardware and software assets;
• Perform physical and health checks and maintain documentations;
• Conduct system testing and support user acceptance test; 
• Provide network support service to computer users and systems using tools provided, if any, and carry out on-site inspection, in more than one office, and take recovery action according to prescribed procedures;
• Work with internal staff, project teams or contractors in carrying out upgrade and configuration to network equipment system;
• Support supervisor in providing technical advice to management and users; and
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
   

Requirements: 

• Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science/Computer Studies/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Information Engineering, or equivalent;
• At least six years of post-qualification IT experience including at least four years of experience in provision of network maintenance and support, and operation of network equipment; 
• At least 4 years' experience in Internet firewall technical support, infrastructure, networking, network and system management and VPN; knowledge of VLAN/LAN switching,  network design and site preparation is an advantage;
• At least 1 year's experience in work with the Government;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; 
• Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese (essentially Cantonese) and English;
• At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 4 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
