STEM+ART Education Technician

This position collaborates with the STEM+ART Program and the Shuyuan Makerspace Program at The ISF Academy. The program supports scientific research and education and is designed to increase awareness, understanding, and participation. 

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an energetic, qualified, and experienced candidate to join our STEM+ART team.

Responsibilities:

• To coordinate the use of resources and facilities and provide advice in the practical areas of need;
• To help maintain the primary makerspace and STEM+ART room for student use, keep equipment and materials safe and in good working order;
• Assist educators with materials purchases and setup of spaces;
• To assist students during classes;
• To ensure the availability of suitable materials and equipment, helping to compile orders and liaising or negotiating with suppliers and finance departments;
• To work with outside organizations as required;
• To offer administrative support and perform other duties as assigned; 
• To maintain and promote a healthy, safe, and efficient working environment for all members of the ISF community; and
• Support the whole school ISF Academy Wayfinding (signage and maps) Initiative.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree is desired;
• With technical experience in a K-12 setting;
• Comfortable learning how to use technologies, including 3-D printers and other digital fabrication tools;
• Laser cutting experience desired;
• Strong IT and procurement tools;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin); and
• Meticulous, detail-oriented with high initiative.
