Job Description
A number of vacancies is available for this post. The incumbents will work under the supervision of Senior Accounting Officer II (SAO II) for duties of either General Ledger and Reporting (GL) or Accounts Payable and Payment (AP) or Accounts Receivable and Income (AR).
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting duties general ledger, e.g. preparation of journals, and bank reconciliation, etc. (GL)
- Handle the daily operations of the Payment Team, including but not limited to validating payment requests, matching invoices, settlement of autopay and internal transfer transactions, and processing payments via cheque, online transfer, or wire transfer (AP)
- Handle the daily operations of the Income Team, including but not limited to validating income/receipts, checking bank statements for income deposits, issuing of debit notes, assisting GL team on bank reconciliation (AR)
- Assist in the preparation of analyses of accounts and monthly reporting statement for service units and projects (GL/AP/AR)
- Assist in preparation of bank reconciliations and month-end/ year-end closing activities (GL)
- Assist in reconciliation work on payment/income activities (AP/AR)
- Liaise with internal and/ or external parties on accounting/ payment/ receipt matters (GL/AP/AR)
- Participate in fundraising activities (e.g., Caritas Bazaar) (GL/AP/AR)
- Provide administrative support and participate in other ad hoc projects as required (GL/AP/AR)
- Any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisors (GL/AP/AR)
Requirements
- F.5 or above with 5 passes in HKCEE including Chinese, English & Mathematics; or Level 2 or above in the 4 core subjects of HKDSE with LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping and Accounts; and no less than 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Degree/ Higher Diploma in Accounting/ Business Management/ Commerce or equivalent and preferably with some relevant work experience and LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping and Accounts
- Familiar with major ERP Systems is an advantage but not essential
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel & Word) and Chinese Word Processing
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with can-do attitude, good team player, able to work independently and under pressure with tight deadline, hard-working, well organized, eager to learn, flexible and patient
- Immediate availability is highly preferred

Salary
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Contract
An 1-year full-time contract will be offered with possibility of subsequent contract renewal based on performance.
