Hosted by the Department of Philosophy with the support of the Hong Kong Catastrophic Risk Centre (HKCRC) of Lingnan University, the Master of Arts in Artificial Intelligence and the Future (MAAIF) programme provides a basic understanding of artificial intelligence, including the fundamental principles of its operation and its implications for human society. These implications include vital ethical and social issues arising from the use of AI technologies.
The appointee is expected to provide a wide range of administrative support to the MAAIF postgraduate programme.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Programme Director in planning, coordinating, and administering the MAAIF postgraduate programme
- Performing a wide range of administrative duties related to admissions and programme operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the programme, including admission processing and programme promotion, visa applications, course arrangements, meeting planning, and handling financial and budgeting matters
- Providing secretarial support to the Programme Director/committees, teachers, and offering advisory assistance to students
- Preparing relevant reports related to programme administration
- Liaising with internal and external parties and coordinating professional development activities (internships, seminars, or workshops)
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A recognised Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector
- Candidates with experience in postgraduate programme admission and administrative processes would be highly preferred
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- High level of competence in computer literacy
- Good team spirit with a strong sense of responsibility and a willingness to go the extra mile to complete tasks before deadlines
- Initiative, report writing ability, and analytical skills to carry out duties independently and efficiently
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
