Job Description

Assistant Communications Manager in the Office of the Vice-President (Research) [Ref. R/052/24]

The appointee will promote the University’s research achievements to diverse targets, both locally and internationally.

Duties

  1. Develop and implement effective marketing and communications initiatives for research promotion;
  2. Manage research promotion requests from faculty members and coordinate the selection process for research publicity at various levels;
  3. Prepare marketing and promotional collaterals and materials (e.g. leaflet, poster and banner) from design, production to distribution;
  4. Liaise with vendors and agencies for different online/offline promotional materials and channels;
  5. Initiate and manage social media platforms to enhance online engagement and promote research activities;
  6. Assist in planning and implementation of collaborative activities and events;
  7. Provide support to the management of the office; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing/Journalism/Linguistics with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in relevant or sizable public organisation(s);
  2. Attention to details with the ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure;
  3. Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders;
  4. Good organisational and problem-solving skills; and
  5. Proficiency in computer skills and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
