Job Description
Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery
The appointee will work under the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery located at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, and is expected to play a key role in the administration of the Department. He/She will report to the Chairperson and will be responsible for (a) providing administrative service for staff appointment and staff review; (b) preparing department budgets and monitoring financial transactions; (c) assisting the Chairperson to formulate or implement policies, manage human resources and review the Department’s financial status; (d) providing secretarial support to the Department Board and its committee(s); (e) managing the general office and supervising clerical and executive staff members; and (f) performing other administrative tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 8 years’ post-qualification executive experience, preferably in office management at higher education institutions; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) excellent problem-solving, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; (vi) the ability to work independently and co-operatively with other team members; (vii) a high level of self-motivation under a multitasking environment; and (viii) strong computer literacy and knowledge of computer applications. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
