DEPARTMENT OF FOOD SCIENCE AND NUTRITION

Executive Officer (Ref. 240821015-IE)

Duties 

The appointee will be required to:

(a) oversee the administrative support for all matters related to academic programmes and exercises;

(b) support the planning, coordination and implementation of different teaching and learning activities;

(c) support the operation and development of academic programmes;

(d) compile statistical and academic programme reports for curriculum and resources planning;

(e) supervise junior staff members in the programme team;

(f) provide secretarial support to various departmental committees, meetings and working groups;

(g) liaise and coordinate with different units of the University, students, alumni as well as external organisations; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant administrative experience, preferably gained in local tertiary institutions;

(b) have good computer literacy, preferably with experience in database management;

(c) have a good sense of process streamlining and be familiar with the use of technology in administration;

(d) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; 

(e) have excellent communication, interpersonal and coordination skills as well as the ability to work under pressure in a highly dynamic working environment;

(f) have a high level of self-motivation, strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and multi-tasking skills; and

(g) be a good team player, proactive and able to work independently and professionally.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
