Office of University General Education

The Office of University General Education (OUGE) is inviting applications for the post of ‘Programme Assistant’ to provide support to the General Education (GE) programmes and initiatives administered by the Office.

The appointees will be responsible for providing clerical and operational support, including (a) data entry, consolidation, and presentation in a standard format; (b) processing of student applications; (c) providing counter service and handling of enquiries; (d) organising seminars, workshops, and conferences; (e) handling procurement and accounting matters; and (f) performing other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) fast and accurate word-processing skill; (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; (vi) a strong sense of responsibility and initiative; (vii) attentiveness to details; (viii) good interpersonal skills; and (ix) the ability to workas a team. Having experience with data processing tools will be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
