Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Planning, designing and developing comprehensive phonics lessons that incorporate multimedia elements for both Primary and Secondary levels, aligned with the established phonics framework;
  • Developing engaging phonics activities and games that complement lesson content and cater to diverse learning styles;
  • Reviewing current learning materials on the platform and providing constructive feedback to improve their effectiveness and quality; and
  • Working closely with the Instructional Designers to enhance the overall learning experience and ensure high-quality educational content aligned with curriculum standards.

Requirements

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A recognized degree in Education / English Language / Linguistics, preferably a higher degree in educational technology, instructional design or related discipline;
  • Substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably with proven experience in teaching English, particularly in phonics, at Hong Kong Primary and Secondary Schools and deep understanding of the English Language Curriculum;
  • Technology skills in education, with experience in the use of computer- based/mobile technology for multimedia and online course development/design;
  • A native English speaker preferred; and
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in a trade test.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1-year full-time contract on project basis. An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates. Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
