Job Description

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:

Lecturer (act as Student Advising Coordinator) (S&T) (Ref: 24002T9)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Providing academic advising, training and support to postgraduate students;
  • Coordinating student admission;
  • Organizing seminars and conferences;
  • Organizing local and overseas exchange activities;
  • Implementing scholarship programme;
  • Enhancing academic support and serving as Class Mentor;
  • Organizing and conducting classroom, laboratory and field-based teaching; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School of Science and Technology or his / her nominee(s).

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A master’s degree, preferably a PhD degree in Education, Counselling, Social Science, Science and Technology, or any relevant discipline;
  • Relevant experience in student advising, preferably with Mainland students;
  • Preferably with good understanding and experience in the academic and cultural needs of Mainland students;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently under pressure; and
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
