Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee(s) will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assisting in course planning and development as well as participating in School / University activities;
- Assisting the Student Advising Coordinators to provide academic advising;
- Addressing the academic and cultural needs of non-local students;
- Conducting regular meeting with students;
- Providing tutorial, laboratory, and field-based teaching support during the specified working hours (weekday nights and weekends); and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School of Science and Technology or their nominee(s).
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- Holder of Master degree, preferably a doctoral degree in Education, Counselling, Science and Technology, or any relevant discipline;
- Relevant experience in student advising, preferably with Mainland students;
- Preferably with good understanding and experience in the academic and cultural needs of Mainland students;
- Strong sense of responsibility, effective organization and interpersonal skills; and
- A good command of English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
