Job Description

Job Purpose

This position will play a crucial role in supporting and assisting the Donor Engagement team, which will help raise funds and awareness that enable and support the SPCA's work and have a chance to learn more about and develop donor engagement / fundraising skills.

This exciting and varied role will include research, administration, planning, and creative thinking, The successful candidate will support fundraising activities, events, initiatives, and campaigns and help ensure all our supporters and donors receive the best possible experience. S/he will maintain relationships and keep them updated and engaged. S/he will also play an essential role in developing the major donors’ cultivation journey.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and support fundraising team members, gaining a better understanding of the various fundraising roles
  • Be a key contact for fundraising enquiries, including telephone calls and emails
  • Collation and sending of information to potential and current supporters and advising on queries relating to fundraising
  • To assist with the implementation of a regular giving strategy and support donor communication and retention
  • To assist with the implementation of the donor stewardship programme for all donors, including one-off and regular givers
  • Provide dedicated and invaluable database maintenance and administrative support
  • Support fundraising through research and the preparation and analysis of data and reports
  • Support the organisation, planning, promotion, and delivery of fundraising, profile-raising, stewardship and other event
  • Research and prepare compelling copy, proposals and other materials to help educate, inform, inspire and thank our supporters and potential supporters

 

Experience, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience of working in a fundraising or sales/customer-facing role
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Experience of working within a team and individually to achieve success
  • Experience of using a database
  • Excellent computer skills and experience using various computer packages, including Microsoft
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with people at all levels, on the telephone, face to face and in writing
  • Ability to conduct thorough research to keep up-to-date with new fundraising opportunities
  • Demonstrable initiative and determination
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment and sensitivity of the aims and objectives
