Assistant Computer Officer (carrying the job title of ‘Digital Technologist’)(Ref. 240002OQ) (Closing date: November 17, 2024)
We are seeking an innovative Digital Technologist to elevate our online communications and drive digital transformation. As a key member of our digital team, the appointee will be responsible to blend hands-on full-stack engineering with strategic thinking to optimize how we develop websites, leverage technology and design streamlined systems for operations. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in web technologies and DevOps practices, with a passion for continuous improvement of user experience through innovation and automation.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) developing, maintaining and optimizing websites, systems and tools for content, project management and technical operations; (b) implementing SEO, accessibility and performance best practices across all digital properties; (c) building and managing technical infrastructure, including APIs, databases, servers, cloud hosting and virtual systems; (d) ensuring high performance, reliability, security, and scalability of digital platforms; (e) performing regular backups of servers and providing recovery options; (f) liaising with stakeholders, IT department, and vendors on technical requirements; (g) collecting, analyzing and reporting on metrics to identify optimization opportunities across websites, applications and systems utilizing tools like Google Analytics; (h) evaluating, researching and implementing innovative tools to automate workflows, streamline operations and improve user experiences; (i) providing technical support and user training workshops to facilitate digital transformation; (j) facilitating the procurement, inventory management and expense reports on technical equipment, applications, accessories, and maintenance services; and (k) performing additional duties as assigned.
The applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline; (ii) a minimum of 3 years’ full-stack technical experience with a successful track record of system implementation; (iii) experience with PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL, .NE, and server/database administration; (iv) familiarity with Notion, MS Teams, content ingestion workflows for Digital Asset Management, various CMS, APIs, CDNs, cloud services (AWS/Azure) and AI tools; (v) quick aptitude for learning new technologies; (vi) excellent organizational, coordination and database management skills; (vii) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; and (viii) self-motivation with creative problem-solving skills. Having knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies, jQuery, Bootstrap, ASP.NET, MVC, C# and LINQ would be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
