The University is carrying out a 2-year project funded by the Education Bureau via Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) with an aim to create a vibrant and adaptive community of practice to benefit from free and online tools, especially the emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowered ones, in their teaching and learning practices in Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and other self-financing tertiary education institutions.
We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Open Learning:
Assistant Project Manager (SOL) (Ref.: 24002HU)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of a project management plan that aligns with the project's goals and timeline. Regularly monitoring project progress and supporting adjustments as needed;
- Identifying challenges and opportunities related to AI-powered open educational tools;
- Designing and managing the training and workshop programmes for teaching staff and students;
- Organizing meetings, forums, and events among project participants;
- Assisting in managing the project budget, including tracking expenditures and supporting the allocation of funds for manpower, equipment, services, and general expenses;
- Contributing to the preparation of the project reports, including the Progress Reports and the Final Evaluation Report; and
- Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree in related disciplines such as Business Information System, Education Technology, Computer Science, Intelligent Systems, or Information Engineering;
- Experience supporting project management in educational technologies and AI-powered tools, preferably;
- Understanding of AI technologies and their applications in education;
- Familiar with platform development processes and coordinating with IT teams;
- Passionate, self-motivated, and having the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on a 2-year full-time contract on project basis. An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates. Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
