IT Operations/ Application Support Engineer (AWS required)

Job Overview:

The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth IT operations and providing support for business applications not limited to trading exchange and other business applications. Collaborating with the IT operations team and stakeholders to deliver efficient IT services and resolve application-related issues. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, troubleshooting, deployments, and supporting end-users.

Job Description:

• Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, systems, networks and applications for security, availability, stability, capacity and performance on cloud.
• Assist end-users with support requests, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and application functionality queries.
• Resolve application-related incidents and problems, escalate when needed, and collaborate with teams for resolution.
• Contribute to service operations, ticket management, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence.
• Support application deployments and upgrades, coordinate with Research & Development (R&D) and Development & Operations (DevOps) teams, and assist with documentation and change execution.
• Adhere to security policies, and report incidents or vulnerabilities.
• Maintain process documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing systems.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Cover for your team lead to chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meeting and hold the Incident Recovery call when required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• At least 5 years’ experience in IT operations support especially on trading platforms, cloud, web and mobile application infrastructure support.
• Experience with cloud technologies platform such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with monitoring/alert such as CloudWatch, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with business applications and their functionalities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills for end-user interactions.
• Team player with attention to detail and process adherence.
• Basic knowledge of IT security principles and compliance.
• Proficiency in Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tools or support ticketing systems is a plus.
• Relevant certifications or coursework in IT support or ops is a plus.
• Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and practices is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (i.e. Cantonese and Mandarin).
