Senior QA Officer (Footwear) for DC

SO, WHAT'S THE STORY?

Our Global Supply Chain organization is fundamental to enabling the growth of our Dr. Martens brand and delivering our DOCS strategy.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and proactive DC Quality Assurance Senior Officer to join the Global Logistics team. This role will have a dotted-line reporting relationship and work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure alignment on quality assurance standards and processes.

THE GIG

The DC Quality Assurance Senior Officer is responsible for overseeing quality control processes and managing product returns for our distribution centres in APAC (including Shanghai, Tokyo, Icheon and Hong Kong).

In addition to having relevant qualifications and experience in auditing quality standards within a supply chain environment, you will demonstrate the ability to develop effective relationships with and influence key stakeholders inside and outside of the business to ensure engagement and compliance with agreed standards (including but limited to DM’s requirements on quality & SOP). Key areas of responsibility will be:

• Provide comprehensive training for DC inspectors (under service providers) on returned product review and justifications, to ensure the compliance with DM’s quality policies, return process, inspection procedures, and quality standards.

• Provide technical support and give guidance to DC inspectors to maintain consistent quality service.

• Conduct regular on-site inspections and audits in person when necessary, ensuring the DC inspectors adhere to DM’s standards and SOPs.

• Manage the workflow to ensure it is prioritised according to its nature and urgency e.g., inspection, and return products.

• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with the QA team to implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) e.g. dc inspectors’ audit standard meeting the DM’s expectation

• Work cross-functionally with QA, Logistics and DC teams to improve operational workflows.

• Support other Global Sourcing, Quality, and Compliance team initiatives including but not limited to reporting and other ad-hoc projects as required.

• Provide regular communication to relevant stakeholders on Returns progress.

• Provide support to the team on Repair and Recycling initiatives.

• Prepare reports and consolidate data on a regular basis.

To be our DC Quality Assurance Senior Officer, you will also possess these qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree in quality management or relevant subjects.

• 5-7 years of related experience within the footwear/fashion industry in retail or eCommerce business. Product experience in footwear or leather goods under a branded environment required.

• Familiar with AQL standards and knowledgeable in product safety and regulations.

• Excellent qualitative, analytical, and communication skills with all levels of staff

• Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and good time management.

• Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Spoken Japanese will be an advantage.

• Understanding of quality requirements/returns policies for the APAC markets.

• Computer literate with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Able to travel within the region occasionally.
