Head of Operations & Maintenance

This role is responsible for leading and directing the Operations and Maintenance team to achieve operational readiness of autonomous vehicle solutions at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and ensure the continuous, reliable delivery of these solutions in day-to-day operations. The core objective of this position is to establish UISEE’s reputation as a trusted autonomous vehicle solution provider, while strictly adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Additionally, the role involves developing policies for operating procedures and guidelines to standardize service delivery across all operations.

Responsibilities

· Oversee and monitor the day-to-day operations of autonomous vehicles across multiple routes at HKIA, ensuring alignment with operational goals and safety standards.

· Supervise the performance of maintenance contractors to guarantee high-quality maintenance services for the autonomous vehicle fleet and associated equipment.

· Lead and manage the Operations and Maintenance team to achieve operational readiness, with a focus on maximizing fleet availability and minimizing downtime.

· Establish, implement, and regularly review operating procedures, processes, and guidelines to ensure full compliance with the regulations and requirements of relevant authorities.

· Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers and business partners, and establish an efficient communication mechanism to address needs, resolve issues, and align objectives.

· Coach, mentor, and develop a diverse team of employees, fostering a culture of professionalism, continuous improvement, and high performance.

· Coordinate closely with internal technical teams and facilitate smooth project execution through the effective and efficient allocation of key resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.

Requirements

· Hold a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 10 years of professional working experience in the automobile maintenance industry. At least 3 years of this experience must be in a managerial role, with a proven track record of leading teams and driving operational success.

· Written and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin & English are required to facilitate communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.

· Possess working experience in the aviation sector; familiarity with Airside Vehicle Licensing procedures, air-side vehicle safety requirements & bus drivers management will be considered a significant advantage.

· Have relevant experience in monitoring service contracts, as well as collaborating with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and maintenance service providers (Skywell, GoodSense Forklift, DAS, BIG etc.) to ensure service quality and contractual compliance.

· Be familiar with vehicle maintenance procedures, supported by proven experience in managing fleet availability for daily operations and executing structured maintenance programs to optimize fleet performance.

· Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Have hands-on experience in budget management, including budget planning, tracking, and cost-control to ensure operational efficiency within financial constraints.

· Exhibit strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive accountability.
