Project Title: Corpus Linguistics and Intercultural Communication: Comparing Cultures of Elderly Care in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom
[Appointment Period: around 10 months]
The appointee will participate in projects related to discourse studies of cultures of elderly care in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. He/She will be involved in a wide range of research activities, such as reviewing literature, collecting and analyzing data, preparing research reports, and undertaking project-related administrative work. He/she will also need to perform other duties as assigned. The appointment will be for a period of around 10 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.
Applicants should have at least Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in five subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent, preferably with a Bachelor’s Degree or above in Linguistics/Language Studies, Language Sciences, English language, or a related discipline, with relevant post-qualification full-time working experience, or an approved qualification or equivalent standard. Applicants should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, and being familiar with corpus linguistics and discourse analysis is desirable. Passion for educational research and sustainable development is desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
