Research Engineer 1 (Coating technology and device fabrication)

Duties

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Engineer. The appointee will focus on overlayer deposition, surface treatment, and chip device fabrication. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the development of strategies and techniques of coating recipes;
• Conducting overlayer deposition on different substrates (e.g., glass, plastic, metal);
• Performing surface treatment and modifications on different substrates (e.g., glass, plastic, metal) and coatings;
• Designing, preparing, and optimizing treatment protocols and formulations;
• Characterizing and testing materials and samples;
• Collaborating with teammates on R&D activities; and
• Completing tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Education: Master’s or PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field (fresh graduates considered).

Skills:

• Preferred knowledge and practical experience on deposition techniques (e.g., sputtering, evaporation);
• Preferred knowledge in Si-based chip device fabrication;
• Experience in microfluidics is a plus;
• Familiarity with surface and materials characterization (e.g., SEM, AFM, XPS, TEM);
• Knowledge in SPR sensing is advantageous; and
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Languages: Proficient in English and Chinese, with strong report writing and presentation skills.
