Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for media liaison and providing support to the Office in implementing promotion and media communication strategies to highlight the strengths and achievements of the University. He/She will be required to:
- Assist in preparing media communications materials such as press invitations, press releases, articles, line-to-takes and scripts for media interviews, etc.
- Carry out local and Mainland communications duties with the media, internal and external stakeholders such as organising press conferences, briefings, and interviews
- Perform daily media monitoring work and handle media enquiries
- Explore interesting stories for the media, the University community, and the public
- Assist in coordinating and organising University-level campus visits for the key stakeholders, including campus tour and hospitality duties
- Support the Office in the other aspects of work, including corporate communications, event management, marketing, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A recognised degree or an equivalent qualification with 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in journalism and/or other related areas such as corporate communication, public relations, and translation
- An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being an advantage
- Strong media network and communication skills
- Solid experience in handling Mainland media would be an advantage
- The ability to handle projects independently and meet tight schedules
- A detail-oriented team player, with good self-motivated, attention to details
- Good analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office software and Chinese word processing
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund, and gratuity.
