English Pedagogy Manager (Teachers are Welcome)

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Strategy & Leadership

• Spearhead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of English curriculum content for international schools (e.g., IB, IGCSE, ACTFL) and local schools (e.g., HKDSE, Pre-S1).
• Define and uphold standards for curriculum quality, ensuring alignment with educational frameworks and student outcomes.

Team Management & Development

• Lead, mentor, and coach a cross-cultural team of curriculum developers and educators, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Support differentiated professional development to motivate team members and maximize their potential.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding for the English pedagogy team.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure timely delivery of required deadlines.
• Establish rigorous QA processes for learning materials, lesson plans, and instructor delivery (e.g., safety standards, pedagogical efficacy).
• Monitor student progress and adapt content to address performance gaps.

Collaboration & Innovation

• Partner with the wider company including product and tech to integrate cutting-edge tools into curriculum design and enhance digital learning experiences.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives to optimize systems for student and instructor success.
• Drive the expansion of our 1-on-1 business and the underlying operations behind it.

Operational Excellence

• Manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
• Ensure seamless transition between building of new curriculum to business as usual for a diverse range of schools.
• Oversee administrative tasks and ad-hoc assignments critical to advancing pedagogical goals.

Educational Experience:

• Possess a recognised university degree in English, English Literature, English Education, or other relevant disciplines.
• Over 8 years editorial or teaching experience in English or related subjects, with managing experience of over 3 years as a distinct advantage.
• Deep expertise in instructional pedagogy, with a portfolio of successful curriculum projects.

Requirements:

• Able to empathize with the pain points of how students most effectively learn.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Comfortable and familiar technology (e.g. Google doc, slide presentations, etc.).
• Creative, takes ownership on initiatives and is highly organized.
• Passionate about education and technology, and ability to adapt to changes

Bonus:

• Good understanding of and experienced in early childhood education (ECE) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
• Curriculum knowledge in these areas for international schools (IB, IGCSE, ACTFL, etc) and local schools (Pre-S1, TSA, HKDSE, etc)
