Purchaser (Greater China Food Sourcing)

• [Stream A: Native Mandarin + Senior China-market Trader]
• [Stream B: Good Mandarin + 5 years or above stated/lived in China]
• [Stream C: Native Mandarin + food industry calibre]

Purchaser’s duties:

• Act as a sourcing officer in purchasing department;

• Handle sourcing, price negotiation, payment terms, PO, Shipping Documents, order follow up as well as payment arrangement, etc;

• Communicate between with suppliers and production teams;

• Liaise with factories for production schedule & quality checking;

• Internal communication with warehouse for stock management, food quality control, etc;

• Occasionally travel to Greater China region.

Candidates with relative trading / sourcing experience in Greater China Region will be considered as Purchasing Officer / Sourcing Officer, in addition providing following duties:

• Meet with Ethnic Chinese (Mainland China / Taiwan / Hong Kong) vendors;

• Source and audit new suppliers;

• Maintain current product supply and ensure in stable quality;

• Travel to China / Taiwan, source and audit new suppliers;

• Handle price negotiation, cost comparison & analysis;

Important: Instead of related experience in the field, good intuitive and common senses are overwhelmingly important requirements for the above position. Candidate with following knowledge is preferred: Chinese Medicine, Food and Nutrition, Food Science, Biological Science, Logistics, Supply Chain

Requirements:

• Good knowledge with great interest in food / food science is essential;

• Good command in both written and spoken Mandarin plus Native Cantonese Speaking;

• 3-4 years’ working experience, preferably in sales or trading, purchasing office, retail industry;

• Good understanding of China’s business environment / culture is preferred;

• Good Knowledge of Chinese culinary, supply chain, food science, etc is an advantage;

• Holder of driving license (Hong Kong and China);

• Able to work multi-tasks under pressure and deliver on schedule;

• Self-motivated, positive, energetic and keen on learning;

• Good numerical sense plus proficiency in usage of EXCEL tool is definite advantage;

• Strong team player and communicator;

• Disciplinary, punctual.
