Company Introduction

T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 35 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 12 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

The Role

Reporting to the IT Senior Manager, Business Engagement, the Manager - Business Analytics will play the role of a Program Manager combining business analyst skills with project management leading the IT Business Analysis Team working on multiple projects meeting business objectives for the development of business solutions. He/She is responsible for the planning and provision of business relationship services, and to identify and develop business case to enhance, or to address different business needs and priorities in the cost-effective approach.

Major Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement and manage the provision of business relationship services including eCommerce/digital channels where applicable.
  • Project leadership responsibilities include the creation and management of project plans, requirements, budget, schedule, communication, and delivery.
  • Research emerging technology, solutions and vendors in addition to industry best practices that could be applied to address T&T’s business needs including eCommerce/digital channels where applicable.
  • Analyze and recommend changes to improve the reliability, stability and usability of application systems.
  • Supervise, develop and mentor team members in business liaison skills, vendor engagements, requirement definition, recommendation/proposal development, as well as project management.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, support and develop growth of subordinates.
  • Serving as the connection between the Information Technology Department and business units it services.
  • Organize and make provisions to provide 2nd level support to resolve operational and / or business application support issues upon request including eCommerce/digital channels where applicable.
  • Manage the discussions with business users to establish system development projects’ priorities, requirements, specifications, costs and timelines then schedule appropriate IT business analysis and co-ordinate development resources to cope.
  • Assist IT Senior Manager, Business Engagement in the management and direction setting for the IT Business Analysis Team, including setting priorities, budget development, coordinating, resources planning and the reporting of business analysis activities.
  • Hire, manage and assist in the hiring/termination of IT Business Analysis Team to maintain optimal performance of job duties, and develop subordinates to meet the service demands of the company.
  • Assist in the control of IT budgets and expenditures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the superior(s).

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

  • A Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or Commerce is preferred.
  • Possess 10 years or more with supervising experience in various information technology services support functions including but not limited to business analysis, business application system project management, business performance analysis and/or business consulting role in information technology and process re-engineering.
  • Previous experience in managing a team of Business Analyst is mandatory.
  • Strong project management skills to include communicating with all levels of management, exceptional presentation skills, budget/schedule/resource control, risk management, stakeholder management, requirements management, and scope management.
  • Certification, such as Business Analysis, Project Management or other designation relating to application of IT in business operation/management is an asset.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary retail business including eCommerce/digital channels hardware and software architectures.
  • Service oriented with good interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and responsiveness in completing tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate detail technical information clearly, understandably, and effectively to non-technical staff.
  • Must be well organized with rigorous attention to details and follow-through.
  • Strong negotiation and consensus building skills with ability to recognize and resolve conflicts.
  • Efficient delegator, team coach, committed to continuous learning and improvements.
  • Willing and able to travel in the North America as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.

Shift

5-day work week (Monday to Friday), 9:00am – 5:30pm
