Job Description
We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Facilities Management Office:
Facilities Officer (Architecture/Surveying) (FMO) (Ref: 24002AL)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Drafting CAD design drawings and providing drafting supports to projects and AA&I works;
- Assisting/producing scheme design and design draft for any user request or concept;
- Liaise with external parties including consultants to review and comment on proposal and specifications;
- Identify, evaluate and implement of smart construction technologies.
- Responsible for coordination with contractors and liaising with utilities and consultants.
- Oversee and inspect the building works carried out by contractors/sub-contractors to ensure that the design and related works meet the project, legislative and safety requirements.
- Assisting in design coordination and development, from concept and feasibility studies to the construction stage for projects and AA&I works;
- Handling tender drawings and preparing related documents;
- Managing document control processes for assigned projects;
- Updating drawing records and maintaining as-built drawings for the University;
- Following up on the work progress of any works, projects and related matters as per supervisors’ instructions or as requested by stakeholders; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Management or his/her nominees.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree/higher diploma or equivalent in in Architecture, Surveying, Construction Engineering or a related discipline in construction industry, with at least 5 years of solid related experience.
- Working experience in large consultancy practices is an advantage;
- Experience in statutory submission is advantageous;
- Ability to work independently, to follow up on issues proactively and to handle complex assignment and varied workload;
- Experience in the production of architectural drawings and graphics;
- Experience in design coordination and construction detailing;
- Ability to aid in design research and archive keeping;
- Proficiency and strong experience in AutoCAD;
- Good interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset; and
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese as well as computer skills.
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
