Job Description

The IT Officer / Senior IT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining and securing Oxfam Hong Kong’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and software. He/she would troubleshoot issues, implement security measures, and ensure optimal system performance. His/her job duties include but not limited to the following:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network.
  • Manage and monitor servers and network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs - on premises and in cloud services.
  • Implement and manage security measures such as firewalls, antivirus protection, data loss prevention systems, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security products.
  • Ensure security of IT systems, manage backup, data recovery, and access controls.
  • Ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and servers.
  • Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues.
  • Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve efficiency, productivity and/or IT security.
  • Plan and execute IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and installations.
  • Document IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Assist in IT administrative works, such as inventory management and procurement.
  • Provide support during events and perform any other IT duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree / professional training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Preferably with 8 years’ work experience in the field of IT.Candidates with less experience will be considered as IT Officer.
  • Proven experience in IT administration and support.
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software, network and cloud technologies is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge in cybersecurity, security frameworks and best practices.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure. Strong sense of responsibility. Attention to details and accuracy in work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin, Cantonese.
  • Strong willingness to keep up with the latest technology trends and continuously learn new skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred.
  • Security training such as CISSP, CISA, CISM or CEH would be a plus.
  • Working outside normal office hours may be required occasionally.
  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
