Applications are invited for appointment as Programme Director (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (Ref.: 531001) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.)
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) or other related disciplines;
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the educational field, including at least 3 years within the higher education sector in Hong Kong with a leadership role with experience managing both credit-bearing and self-financed programs, with responsibility for profit and loss (P&L);
- Proven track record in designing, implementing, evaluating, and accrediting innovative and entrepreneurial educational programmes;
- Strong network within the regional innovation and technology ecosystem, with the ability to engage with international educational and industry partners;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently with initiative, exercise independent judgement and problem-solving skills;
- A strong interest in the latest scene of entrepreneurship, technology development and markets in Hong Kong and worldwide.
The appointee will primarily work for the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core, the University's Innovation & Entrepreneurship Resource Centre (www.tec.hku.hk), to manage its techno-entrepreneurship education programmes hosted by the HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Academy at Qianhai, Shenzhen, covering both local and international participants. He/She will conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for new program development and lead the creation and implementation of new educational programmes that meet market demands and align with the institution's strategic goals; oversee the day-to-day operations of educational programmes, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement; manage the P&L for all educational programmes, ensuring financial sustainability and growth; provide leadership and direction to programme staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment; build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, industry partners, and regulatory bodies; ensure all programmes meet accreditation standards and maintain high levels of academic quality and integrity; and perform other duties as assigned.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel frequently. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
